Beach Trip

So it has taken me a few days to blog about the weekend trip to the beach, but hey when you go on vacation even if it is just for one day off of work you come back to even more work! I had a great time with the kids at Wrightsville Beach at the SunSpree Resort James was sick and did not have the best time because of that, but all in all it was great to get away. The weather was gorgeous and we were able to go to the pool and the beach every day. This summer Taylor loves playing in the ocean. Last year she ran along the shoreline now she runs into the waves. Just like her daddy she does not want to get out of the water to leave. I think they are part fish! Jamie did great too. He still wants to put the sand in his mouth but he loved playing in the sand and did not seem to mind the cold ocean water. I think he enjoyed being in the baby pool the most. He was all smiles then. So, after smelling the salty air and feeling the warm ocean breeze for the first time since last summer had me motivated to get ready for our summer week long beach trip. We were able to book a week in June this time at our favorite family friendly resort in surfside beach, SC. So our trip is exactly two months away. I can't wait!

Getting In Touch

So those reunion websites (i.e. classmates.com) really works. Over the past week. I have gotten in touch with three people from school-one goes all the way back to elementary school, one from middle/high school and one from my days at Carolina. It was strange I was contacted by two people from Franklin just one day apart, so I went on the site and got in touch with the college friend. It is neat and strange at the same time to hear what someone you used to know is doing. Fortunately, it was a pleasant surprise to hear from these three individuals. There are several people from the past I would completely like to forget or have forgotten.

First Movie!

I took Taylor and Jamie to see their first movie in the movie theater yesterday. We saw Ice Age The Meltdown As Grandmama put it "not the best choice of movie for their first movie", but hey it is not like Cinderella comes out everyday. The movie was PG which I did not realize, but all of the mature stuff when right over Taylor's head. It was like most animated films today that are made for kids but don't let the parents get too bored watching them too. I would put the film in the "wait for the dvd" category, but it made for a fun time for all of us.

We went to a matinee and to my surprise, I only had to buy one ticket. They both behaved beautifully. Jamie was great. We sat on the fron row so they had room to stand up and move around. Taylor was so proud of her ticket stub and if I can get it away from her I will save it for the scrapbook.
