Mama, look what I brought home from school....

Germs! Well Miss Taylor had her first absence from preschool today. This is her second illness since she started preschool almost exactly one month ago. The first one was a cold and she had that bout over the weekend so she was fine to go back to school on Tuesday. This time it's a stomach virus or bug the doctor is not sure. Now Jamie is getting a little fever and sluggish so it looks like he's picked up the germs too.

I hate to see them sick. I knew this type of thing would happen when she started school but I thought she would not get it until the winter. Good grief! I guess no matter when she started school it was inescapable even if we waited until kindergarten. I am just so glad they are not in day care especially when they were such younger. Wee ones who could not fight off all the germs.

During my DS#1's 4 year old preschool year he had strep continually. I remember sitting in the Pediatricians office in tears asking "What can I do to stop this?"...she, in her gentle wisdom, said, "Nothing, short of taking him out of school; oh, and don't let him drink from the water fountain!" Oh MY. Well, it did get better but I was so frustrated at the cycle but it did get better. I have drilled and drilled into my children about handwashing and not putting things in their mouths. I wonder if they listen? LOL

I am hoping it does get better. I try to stress the hand washing but I am afraid if I am not there with anitbacterial gel wiping her hands every 5 minutes there is no hope!
